Engineering and technical consultancy Offshore Design Engineering Ltd (ODE) has expanded its presence in Europe through the opening of a new subsidiary ODE GmbH, based in Hamburg, Germany.

The subsidiary is set to boost the engineering, technical services and resource offering currently available to European clients; complementing ODE’s established engineering base in the UK, ODE GmbH will actively recruit and invest in local personnel, and will streamline communication and collaboration through its close proximity to European client offices.

ODE GmbH will draw on the 20+ years of renewables experience that ODE has built in offshore wind to successfully deliver engineering and technical consultancy to local clients. Having worked on over 50 projects across 17 countries, ODE is consistently adding to its strong European track record of projects which includes the Baltic Eagle, Wikinger, St Brieuc, Baltica and Borselle offshore wind farms in Germany, France, Poland, and the Netherlands respectively.

David Robertson, ODE’s Director and Head of Renewables, said “Offshore wind energy has established itself as a key industry across Europe and is continuing to develop at a pace. We are looking forward to continuing our support to the European market through a centralised subsidiary, collaborating on projects with pre-existing partners as well as developing new working relationships.”
