ODE Asset Management (ODE AM), a wholly owned subsidiary of the international engineering and operations support services contractor ODE Group Limited, has been appointed as Installation Operator (Duty Holder) of the Tolmount Platform, a Normally Unattended Installation (NUI).

The Tolmount platform and associated gas export pipeline comprise the Humber Gathering System, which is owned by Humber Gathering System Limited (HGSL), a Kellas Midstream company, and Dana Petroleum.  The Humber Gathering System will initially deliver gas from the Tolmount field, owned by Premier Oil and Dana Petroleum, to the Easington onshore gas terminal. In June, ODE’s team Fuel to Win took part in Renewable World’s Earth, Wind and Tyre 2019 cycle challenge. The total fundraised for the challenged reached £76,700 and will help to transform the lives of those who live in poverty overseas.

6 members of ODE joined 50 other cyclists to complete the challenge with ODE also acting as a Silver Sponsor in support of the event.

With the fundraising, Renewable World are closer to achieving their long-term target to move 100,000 people out of energy poverty by 2022. This is done by providing clean lighting and clean water to communities and power sources to small businesses.

An example of Renewable World’s work includes their construction of solar pump systems. For £40,000, a solar pump can be installed to help bring clean water to communities living at high altitudes, improving the health of the community and subsequently improving their access to education and a steady income.

ODE’s 6-man team, Fuel to Win, participated in the Earth, Wind and Tyre 2019 cycle challenge organised by the charity Renewable World; through donations, the cause hopes to provide clean and sustainable energy to people across the globe.

Over a 216-mile course from Durham to Edinburgh, and passing 11 windfarms on their journey, Fuel to Win handled heavy rain, strong winds, and an ascent of over 14,000 ft to reach the finish line. They were joined by teams and individuals from across the renewable energy industry to complete the two-day race.

ODE’s team consisted of Andrew Baker, James Eddolls, Amir Elzoubier, Chris Lomax, Matthew Smith and Don Wickramasinghe. Andrew Baker was the fastest of the ODE team, achieving joint fourth place overall, whilst Amir Elzoubier took part in the challenge for the second year in a row.

Since starting work in 2008, Renewable World has helped nearly 40,000 people across Central America, East Africa and South Asia by providing access to electricity, clean water and clean cooking facilities.

Employees from Offshore Design Engineering and other DORIS Group companies sailed to fourth place in the 2019 Coupe du Pétrole boat race in Marseille, France.

The DORIS Group team were one of seventeen crews participating in the four-day race; meaning The Oil Cup, the Coupe du Pétrole is open to employees from across the Oil and Gas industry, this year featuring teams from companies such as Perenco and Technip.

Beatrix Sibley and Jean-Charles Di Schino from ODE sailed with team-mates from DORIS Engineering, STAT Marine and Oceanide to win fourth place. The full team consisted of:

With mixed levels of expertise in competitive sailing, the team worked together under the experienced leadership of Beatrix Sibley and Benjamin Rousse to complete the course. Despite having never sailed together before, the team employed the mantra to Race for Best and acted with determination and good spirit to achieve their outstanding result together.
