The ERM-DOLPHYN Project has been named the C2I Energy and Environment winner by The Engineer as part of a week’s awards celebrating collaboration and innovation in UK engineering. Recognised for promoting efficient resource usage and environmental sustainability, the DOLPHYN (Deepwater Offshore Local Production of HYdrogeN) Project uses floating offshore wind turbines to produce hydrogen, bypassing the traditional process of generation through fossil fuels.
ODE is currently acting as pre-FEED designer for the project topsides and is in partnership with ERM, Tractabel Engie, Principle Power Inc, NEL and Doosan. The project’s 2MW semi-submersible prototype is set to be completed in 2024 with the full 10MW pre-commercial facility constructed in 2027.
